On Friday, February 24th 2023, DigiAna Group proudly presents Algorithmic Fabric-ation, a solo exhibition by @tommymintznyc at the newly opened DigiAna Studio in Long Island City, New York, where visitors—by RSVP via the profile link—are invited to explore a body of striking and conceptually rich fabric-based photo works created through artist Tommy Mintz’s original software, The Automated Digital Photo Collage (ADPC), a custom-coded program that analyzes sequences of photographs at the pixel level to detect and layer changes, generating surreal, nonhuman visual compositions that provoke new ways of seeing time, motion, and identity, all while materially manifesting these digital collages onto diverse and tactile surfaces including silk, velour, leatherette, cotton, and roller blinds—creating an intentional contrast between fleeting digital ephemera and grounded physical presence, as part of Mintz’s ongoing artistic inquiry into the evolving tension between the physical and digital realms, and how digital photography continues to shape, distort, and reflect our collective and personal sense of self and temporality; the exhibition will remain on view at the studio through March 24th, and inquiries may be directed to the artist at tommy@tommymintz.com or by visiting www.tommymintz.com.
